Record summer temperatures have been set in the Northern Hemisphere earlier this year, with a new record high in Tokyo, Japan (41.1℃), Africa in Algeria (51.3℃) and hottest overnight minimum (42.6℃).
With the Southern Hemisphere summer quickly approaching, Victorians are bracing for a potential scorcher. Are you prepared?
We all love going to the beach in summer, however with the typical scorching Australian sun in the summer and the population with one of the highest rate of skin cancer (https://molemap.net.au/why-australia-is-a-global-skin-cancer-hotspot/) its time we take priority in protecting our prolonged exposure to the sun.
It is an enjoyable activity to be heading down to the beach, whether its by yourself, with family or with friends. With the sun so deadly during the Australian summer, a viable alternative is to invite friends and family around to your private pool-side adventure. If you are lucky enough to have the space to build a pool, or already have one, it may be a good idea to be utilising this space in place of a few beach-side sessions for the simple reason that everyone is in total control to the amount of sun exposure they are willing to take and the convenience of descent shade being only a few steps away (i.e. the house).
Start the preparation work during spring to get your pool-side area looking great and ready for the upcoming summer months.
